Lead the strategy. Own the partnerships. Drive performance.

Are you ready to take the reins of one of the UK’s most high-impact paid search programmes? We’re looking for a Paid Search Marketing Manager to lead our paid search strategy across Google and Microsoft platforms, managing a multi-million-pound budget and building powerful partnerships that drive real commercial results.

This is a high-profile role where you’ll be responsible for shaping and executing paid search campaigns that deliver high-intent traffic and bookings at scale. You’ll manage our agency relationships and work directly with platform partners to stay ahead of the curve and unlock new opportunities.

About the Role

As Paid Search Marketing Manager, you’ll lead the planning, execution, and optimisation of paid search campaigns across Google Ads and Microsoft Ads. You’ll be the key point of contact for our external agency and platform partners, ensuring strategic alignment and best-in-class performance.

You’ll also play a critical role in budget stewardship, performance analysis, and innovation—bringing fresh ideas and data-driven thinking to continuously improve our paid search effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities

-Lead paid search strategy and execution across Google and Microsoft Ads, ensuring campaigns meet ROI and occupancy targets.
-Build and manage relationships with Google, Microsoft, and our external agency, acting as the central point of contact.
-Optimise campaign performance through keyword targeting, ad copy testing, bidding strategies, and automation.
-Monitor and report on performance, using dashboards and analytics to track KPIs such as ROAS, CPC, and conversion rates.
-Manage a significant budget, ensuring spend is tracked, reconciled, and optimised across channels and locations.
-Collaborate cross-functionally with analytics, finance, and creative teams to align paid search with broader marketing goals.
-Drive innovation through A/B testing, AI-driven optimisation, and staying ahead of industry trends.

Minimum Skills & Experiences:

-Strategic Channel Leadership & Innovation
-Evidence of developing and implementing long-term paid search strategies across PPC, Performance Max, AI Max, and emerging paid channels.
-Experience required in identifying and prioritizing opportunities for channel growth, innovation, and efficiency, including piloting new solutions and integrating advanced automation or AI features.
-Evidence of collaborating with cross-functional teams (e.g., marketing technology, data, tech) and external partners to enhance channel capabilities and deliver best-in-class results.

Budget Ownership & Commercial Performance Management

-Evidence of full ownership and optimization of large-scale paid search budgets (£10m+), including setting, managing, and reallocating spend to maximize ROI and achieve business objectives.
-Experience required in negotiating commercial terms with agencies and platform partners, overseeing agency performance, and delivering regular budget reporting and actionable recommendations to senior stakeholders.
-Evidence of aligning budget decisions with broader digital marketing strategy and business goals.

Commercial Impact Analysis & Budget Management

-Evidence of managing large-scale marketing budgets (e.g., day-to-day tracking and monthly reconciliation of an £50M+ budget), including cost management, forecasting, and financial reconciliation.
-Experience required in quantifying the commercial impact of marketing initiatives, promotions, and investment scenarios, and in providing actionable recommendations to senior stakeholders.
-Evidence of partnering with finance and commercial teams to ensure marketing spend is optimized and aligned with business objectives.

Insightful Reporting & Strategic Influence

-Evidence of authoring and presenting high-quality marketing performance reports and trading pack content for a range of stakeholders, including senior leadership.
-Experience required in synthesizing complex data from multiple sources, providing clear commentary and recommendations, and influencing strategic decisions on media mix, channel planning, and budget allocation.
-Evidence of driving process improvements in reporting, ensuring outputs are accurate, visually compelling, and universally understood.
